Bra One Done!

Long-long-long spell sans postings here!

For the past few weeks I've been taking part in a Bra-Making Sew Along led by Amy of Cloth Habit.  So much fun!  Sewing lingerie is much easier than one might expect.

I'd say that, for me anyway, that fiddling around with fit has been somewhat tedious.  I imagine my fellow sew-alongers may have similar feelings.  However, with expert guidance from Amy and Norma the seemingly mysterious art of bra-making has been made accessible!  Thank you so much ladies :D!

Bra one is now complete, and a couple amateur moves on my part resulted in a bit of a snug fit in the upper cup.  Easily tweaked and remedied for round two though.  And though the fit is slightly off, I am pleasantly surprised by how great the finished garment looks!

    1. Thank you Alexandra! It was fun and easy sewing!

I used the Pin-Up Girls Classic Full Band Bra pattern. It's available here: http://www.etsy.com/listing/117140218/the-classic-bra-pattern-a-pin-up-girls

  2. I think you did a great job and your enthusiasm to move along to the second fit despite the minor errors :)

  3. Beautiful bra. Thanks for stopping by my blog and for your suggestion. I did move my strap in about 1" but maybe I need to move it even more. I got Kwik Sew 3300 in the mail today so and will be trying it next. I'm going to only use the cup and will be using the band, straps, and bridge from `Elan 530. Wish me luck.

    1. Thanks! My second one definitely fits better than this one, though unfortunately it is blah white --- I do so want some wild undies LOL!

I'm just so smitten with bra-making that I'm currently reading every blog mentioning it that I can locate --- and was so delighted to find you today, I'll be visiting regularly :D.

Good luck with the KS3300! I recently added that one to my bra pattern collection, but who knows when I'll get around to trying it, but will be avidly reading any posts you write about it.
